The value of an Analogy
I use 'real life' architecture as an analogy for the work that I do online. I use it to explain things on the one hand, but on the other try to convey the impact architecture can (and should) have on human beings. The analogy is often dismissed because the web is believed to have many more dimensions and be capable of realizing very different effects. However, the common denominator in both situations remains 'the human being'; the limits of the brain and natural human behavior determine your outcomes. So 'real life' is a very good reference point and architecture just happens to be one of the oldest and most influential manifestations of human existence.
